Malaï.k – Where Fashion Becomes Art

The Vision Behind Malaï.k

Malaï.k was born from the passion of Keziah Malaïka Sabu-Baudi, a Belgian artist of Congolese descent, who sought to merge fashion, art, and cultural heritage. Since 2020, she has been creating handmade, one-of-a-kind garments that celebrate African and Black narratives while promoting sustainability through the use of upcycled materials.

Each piece is more than just clothing—it’s a story, a symbol of empowerment, and a bridge between past and present. By blending traditional craftsmanship with contemporary aesthetics, Malaï.k offers wearable art that speaks to identity, creativity, and ethical fashion.

Keziah Malaïka Sabu-Baudi – The Artist Behind the Brand

Keziah has always been passionate about art, color, and especially painting. Her journey began when she customized one of her jackets with a beautiful portrait, blending her love for painting with fashion. That moment sparked the idea that would later become Malaï.k—a brand where her artistic vision comes to life through clothing. While she loves creating garments, painting remains her first passion, and she continues to evolve in both worlds. As an artist, storyteller, and activist, she navigates between fashion and painting, with each feeding and inspiring the other in a constant creative dialogue.

Her work embodies:
A deep respect for African heritage
A commitment to sustainable and ethical fashion
A fusion of art and activism, highlighting feminist values

Keziah’s goal is simple: to create clothing with meaning, designed for those who want to wear art and embrace culture.
